Hard leathery red skin surrounding many kernels, each with a tiny edible seed covered with a red pulp. Eat fresh (kernels and seeds). Use as a garnish.

Choose those heavy for size with bright unblemished skins.
Storage:
In a cool, dark place or refrigerator.
Preparation:
Cut fruit in half. Scoop the kernels from the tough white membrane. Take care with preparation as the juice can stain clothes.
Serving suggestion:
Add to fish or poultry dishes.
